Hello all,

I'm having some problems with Toast Titanium 6. When I try to copy a dvd, Toast first copies the files, but then, in stead of prompting me to insert a blank disk, it says "couldn't determine the free space on the disk".

If I insert a blank disk anyway, Toast doesn't know what to do with it...

Any suggestions?

Try choosing Save as Disc Image from the File menu instead of clicking the burn button. When it is finished, select the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window to burn your DVD.

I have had the same problem with Toast 6. It worked perfectly on all operating systems up to 10.4 but as soon as I loaded 10.5 Leopard and tried to copy a disk it comes up with "couldn't determine the free space on the disk" and then it just closes down.
I have tried to get it to write a disk file but can't seem to get it to do that successfully. Does anyone know if there is a reason for this behaviour or whether there is a patch that will fix it?

This worked for me:

1. trash Toast wherever you see its icon. Use Spotlight and the Applications folder to identify them.
2. go to Library, scroll to Preferences, and trash the com.roxio.toast.plist preference.
3. empty the Trash.
4. use Disk Utility to repair the computer's Permissions.
5. When completed, re-start the computer, holding down the Command-Control-P-R keys simultaneously for a count of 3 bells. release the keys after the third bell.
6. Re-install Toast per instructions.
7. download the latest Toast update from Roxio and install it.

The above procedures enabled me to complete the burning of an audio CD, which Toast had stubbornly refused to do. As we have discovered, there are flaws with the much advertised Toast.
