I just bought a Sony DVDcam, and downloaded EMC 9 to see if it is something I want. Unfortunately, it will not let me click on "EDIT MOVIE". Does this not come with the Trial Version? I am new to this DVD Editing stuff, so maybe I am missing something. Thanks.

Probably not in the trial version. I could be wrong but I don't think it's even in the cut-down OEM versions either

The trial version has almost everything.

Editing is done in VideoWave, try starting there…

gi7omy, that be the trail.....

From the Home Screen, left side, under Video, "EDIT MOVIE"? Is your screen resolution to 1024 x 768? That is the minimum screen resolution. Better idea go to start, all programs, Easy Media Creator 9, Video, VideoWave. It opens the same program that way.

EMC9 looks pretty awesome, and everything seems to be available to me except where it says "Edit Movie". That part is a lighter color, and won't let me click on it.

Yes, it does come with the trial version. Trial version has fully working MyDVD and Videowave.

I think this is what layo22 is referring to. Fron version 9 trial a couple of minutes ago.

In the left clip, Edit Movie is greyed out because I haven't added and selected a movie to edit. (see the project view box.

In the right clip I've added Roxio's Transcode video, and clicked on it (selected it) in the project view box. Now my edit options have come to life.

Does this help, layo22?

Brendon

Sorry for stepping in here. I wanted to point out that the best way to edit your video once it is on your computer is to use the Video Wave application. The editor in My DVD is limited and has been know to be not as reliable as VideoWave. Reach all applications by using the Home Application page. (Ignore the tabs for now).

If that camera records to a disc, simply connect the camera to the computer and copy the VOB files to a folder on your computer). Use those for editing. Note that you may have to finalize the disc before you can transfer the VOB files.
