I have a new HP Laptop running Vista Home Premium. It came preloaded with MyDVD v9 and Creator Basic v9. I'm trying to burn TIVO files on a DVD but get no audio. I can play the files in WMP and I checked properties in WMP and it's using NVIDIA audio and video decoders. I've tried to create an ISO disc image but can't find Disc Image Loader to view the file. Do I have to upgrade the basic (free) software to use MyDVD to burn discs? Why was the software preloaded if I have to buy something anyway?

There is no update for any OEM version of the software, unless, in your case, HP has one. OEM versions are versions that the manufacturer of the equipment requested. They are stripped down versions of the retail package, and if you want all the programs, then you have to purchase the real deal.
