I recently upgraded to 9XE which caused me a problem with my DVD writer hardware. So, I uninstalled 9XE and re-installed 8.2XE. Now the option to "Back up my PC" does not show up anywhere as a selection available.

I had to wipe my hard disk clean and re-install version 8.2 XE. Worked okay initially, but, tried the update to version 9 XE. This newer version caused a hardware conflict with my DVD writer. Removed version 9 XE and tried several times to re-install my version 8.2 XE. However, Roxio will not reconize my key any longer. Now I am without a "Back up my PC" option. Help!!

Do a search for 'clean install' in the main forum and follow the instructions there.

You have an OEM version of both programs tho (I think XE may be Maddog) and the 9XE may be 'set' for a different make or model of burner
