After I open Roxio 10, when I try to access any of the items, a box comes up asking which user account i want to use to run the program. In the box it has current user or asks for specific user with password. When i click on current user it comes up that i might not have access permission, but i should because i supposedly am the administrator. any help to bypass or disable this feature. Thanks

Based on what you are describing, there must be other users that could have access to your computer. How many other users are listed to use your computer. If you are the administrator, do you have a password set up ? or if not, who else as a user has an account and password ? Just the fact that you can open EMC 10 and have all the program option available, it would seem to me that you should be able to run any of them.

And what OS are you using ? Or did I miss that ?

I'm running windows xp. The only account is mine, but when that window comes up it asks if i want to run with current user(compaq owner) when i say yes, it comes up that i can't access because i might not have permission. Is the problem with my computer?


I don't have it set up to use a password.

I know that Vista as the OS, and having only one user which is the administrator and even with no password, it's really picky as to what folders and files one gets permission to open. But I didn't know that XP was that way, especially when you are the only user and also listed as the administrator. Looks to me as if the computer was set up with "Compaq" having all the permissions. Try changing or adding another user temporarily and one that has full permissions.
