Are you sure that it is 1.4 GB? I don't have EMC 8, but in EMC 9, mine is 1.37 MB, not GB.

I would copy that file to a temporary folder (make one), then delete the file in Roxio, reboot, and see if all runs okay. Check to see if it made a new album.psod file.

If all is ok, delete the temporary folder, along with the large file.

If all doesn't work, move the file, from the temporary folder, back to the Roxio folder.

It could be any of several things but I would guess that ti would be the catalog of all the files you have on your hard drive. That is created by Media Manager.

The size should not be that large.unless you let the program catalog everything on your hard drive rather than just the images/video/etc. I have the same files but they are just a few MB. You can set Media Manager to not watch everything on your computer and only watch and catalog only what you want (images, audio files, video files)

I can't give you any recommendations regarding downsizing or erasing. Perhaps someone else will.

If you have a problem with a file of that size, you need to remove other programs that you don't use and all the temp and TMP files - in essence all the junk files on your hard drive. If that files is causing you problems, then it is very doubtful that you will be able to do much video editing work.

thanks, I just shut dwn the media manager, and the file is down to 6MB !! biggrin.gif

What does the media manager do? is it important to indicate the "files watching" of the media manager ?

It is a library index to the files. No, you do not have to use it if you don't want to. I don't think a lot of people use it or they restrict it in some way. I have mine on but watching only video, image and music files.
