Last evening I removed EMC8 from my computer (XP home OS) and while it took it's time, it seemed
to do the job. I was removing it in order to install a new version of EMC today i.e. EMC10. When I booted up this morning I was greeted with the Blue Screen of death and that's where I am, there's no booting into any of the Safe modes and I don't know what the next step might be. EMC8 removal caused an error
0xoooooo7B (0xF7C78524, 0xC0000034, zeros in second pair) and I don't know how to get out of it. Can anyone help?........Pleeeaaaassseeee.

I'm not sure I clearly understand what you've done already. Did you install 10 yet or did the BSOD occur after only removing v8?
Please post your system specs.

I have done nothing other than remove EMC8. This was a personal copy and not part of an install when I purchased the computer which is a Dell 8300, Pentium 4 at 2.80Ghz with 800Mhz FSB, 1 meg memory.

I went to Start then Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs and then removed the program by clicking on Remove
Further to the above and perhaps help with solving this, I am an XP home user SP2 and Norton 360 runs on both my home computers. Additionally, I have found a Microsoft article ID #811408 which describes a STOP error 0x7b which results "after you remove Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum Edition" Could the
solution for that error be applied safely to my EMC8 problem?
Yes, I know I'm talking to myself but perhaps it might help someone else. I now know a great deal more about the registry than I ever wished to know, including installing a parallel XP Home Edition in a new Folder, using regedit etc. and protecting myself from destroying all. My last addition to my query was whether I could use a particular Microsoft Solution which was created to eliminate a problem with removing
Easy Creator 5, in the solving of my removal problem resulting from EMC8 removal. I can confirm to anyone else who would like to know that Microsoft article ID # 811408 will NOT help with a removal problem associated with EMC8.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what forum might be helpful in deciphering the STOP error
