Full Version: Emc 10 Install - Not Clever!

I have spent the entire day trying to install EMC 10. Each time, I got either a message that
the installation had been "interrupted" or an error 0643 and a rollback. What kind of stupid
programming is this? The software has the capability of 'knowing' what the problem is
when the failure occurs - but does it try and be helpful and point to the cause of the problem - no!

After many many 'clean installs' it finally loaded - but I have no idea what the magic thing that
I did was.

As a retired Software Development Manager, I place this squarely in the hands of the developers.

Any developer that relies on a single "It didn't work - so sod off" message needs sacking in
my not so humble opinion!
/end rant

You're not posting to Roxio. You're posting to a users forum.

The forum is accessed at:
"http://forums.support.ROXIO.com/index.php?showforum=157," (My caps).
The path is:
"Roxio Community > Easy Media Creator Products > Easy Media Creator 10 > General Discussion"
and the subtext of the group is:
"Discussion covering issues that do not fall into one of the other categories".
I perceive my issue to be "programming ineptitude".

What part of the above justifies a response of:
"You're not posting to Roxio. You're posting to a users forum"

The people who answer here are customers helping other customers. Roxio staff come by from time to time, but rarely - you can distinguish them by the Roxio logo by their name.

So if you want Roxio staff to see your comments, you need to contact Roxio, not yell at the costomers.

I was merely pointing out that none of the Roxio software developers are browsing the forums. The folks who are browsing/posting here, are users like you.
