I don't have a clue as to where I should post this, so please feel free to put it where it belongs. 3 years ago I bought a Dell XPS 400 and it came with the Sonic cd/dvd burner software. I'm not sure which version it was, but it was great and I loved it. Recently I got an error that I needed to put the disc software back in becuase it was missing something. The only software I had in the package that came with the computer was "My DVD PLus" by Sonic. After reloading the program I discovered I now had a completly different program. It appears it only does DVDs. It no longer gives the option for CDs or Data Disc copies. I called Dell and they refused to help me becuase my warranty expired. I just want to know what program I had so that I can just go out and buy the disc and reload the program. It was very user friendly and it only took a couple of moves to copy photos and data files. Can someone please help.

You have a OEM version of Sonic. It came with your computer from Dell, so they should supply you with the disc for their OEM software.

According to the specifications for your computer, the Operating System is WinXP Media Center, which is capable of burning.

I found that by putting the System name in google.

If you can't burn with WinXP at this point, try google to see if you can find some info on what program you had. It's pretty hard to get a copy of it if you don't know what it is.

Or maybe someone else will jump in here with some idea of what may have been disturbed.
