mad.gif I have tried a couple of different ways of using AC3 audio in my projects.
1. Replacing audio track with AC3 file.
2. Adding AC3 file to A2 track and locking that track.

Nothing works. I still get only Dolby 2.0 on the disc.

I get NO surround sound from any of my players, and they are set to dolby digital sound.

Note: all three units are Sony products and are connected to Sony Amps via Optical Inputs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

First thing is first.

Do you actually have an AC3 5.1 file already created? There is no AC3 5.1 encoder in this software you must already have made it from another source.

Yes.

Tested and works fine in Vegas 6.0.

According to Users Manual, DvDIt HD Pro does support 5.1 audio AC3 Files and should import them without having to re-encode them.

If it does not, then I will need to find a better software that does.

the software absolutely passes through multi-channel AC3. When it imports your AC3 files does it tell you that they are not DVD legal? If you want to post your 5.1 files for me I would be happy to take a look at them.

I do not get any message that the files are illegal. It does not matter weather I am using .AC3 or .WMA (Multi-channel) files.
I will be happy to u/l a sample file. Will attempt it tomorrow (2-24-08)
SS Scott
will look forward to your upload. by the way, it does matter if you do AC3 or WMA. WMA will be downsampled to 2.0

How do I attach a file?

You must insure that the lengthnof your video and audio files are precisely the same length. Adding an audio file to a menu
or a motion menu can prod a transcode. make sure the force transcode option is not checked in product preferences.
There may be something in the video files that D6 doesn't like, it will transcode both if that is the case.

My video and audio files are the same length, I do not add ac3 files to my menu, they are simple wave files.

My video is m2v created with canopus procoder for edius.
