I've noticed that on a computer that I did a minimal install, I am unable to erase CDRW's in Creator Classic. You don't get the option to "erase" when you right click the CDRW in Creator classic. I didn't need all the video stuff, so I didn't install VidewWave. But somehow DVD builder get's installed anyway, so it will erase a CDRW from DVD builder but I shouldn't have to go DVD builder to erase a CDRW. The CDRW otherwise burns fine in Creator Classic. I've seen this problem before with minimal installs. Is there a reason for this?

thanks
Brendon
If you haven't installed enough components to get erase in your right-click menu, use the 'Disc and Device' utility in Creator Classic to erase your CDRW.

Tools > Disc and Device Utility

Also, when you go to burn a CDRW in Creator Classic, if you are not importing from the disc and the disc isn't empty, Creator Classic will erase it before the burn starts.

Roxio 7.5 doesn't have a tools folder and I don't see a Disc and Device Utility. Actually, I should have stated that I have 7.5 even though I am in the 7.5 forum. But, like I said, in my other computer, using 7.5 complete installation, I can erase a CDRW disc using Creator Classic but not in the one I only did a minimal install. Just seems odd.

Hi Rayi,

Here's a shot of Creator Classic in 7.5. The 'Tools' button is top left on the toolbar.

Click that button and you see a dropdown which should give you the Disc and Device menu shown. The erase button is at the bottom of that menu.

The Home utility in 7.5 also has quite a big tools section, unless you have managed to prevent that from installing, too. If you have managed to somehow stop all these parts from installing, then you will have to live with your choice or else go back and install the parts you now need.

Regards,
Brendon

Oh. I see. Thanks. I wasn't thinking of the tools section in Creator Classic but the "Tools" folder like in Roxio 9. I see in Roxio 9, it is accessible in the "Tools" folder in your program folder.

Good. Are we fixed now?

Looking at the history of posts, I doubt it. smile.gif

That's not fair to say. Why would you say that? I have solved everything with the help of people on this list. I have been able to successfully create 25 hours of DVD's of my family, as well as countless other projects. I guess I shouldn't ask any more questions. Although, the quirkiness of Roxio's programs, has gotten on my nerves at times, especially v9, I have to say. Unfortunately, I have another question. smile.gif

Fair enough. Go ahead, but make it a new topic/thread please. smile.gif
