I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with Roxio 7.5 after installing PowerDVD 7. I always used PowerDVD 5. Right after I installed PowerDVD 7, I started to get serious freezes in VideoWave within minutes of using it. Previous to that I didn't have any problems. Prior to the IE 7 problem, I thought Roxio 7.5 was about as stable as it gets. Once I uninstalled PowerDVD 7, the freezes sort of went away in VideoWave. I continued to have problems of one kind or another. CinePlayer will not even open anymore. I eventually tried doing a system restore, but that didn't help. Looks like I'm going to have to reinstall that computer again.

Isn't PowerDVD a Cyberlink product? You might want to check with them to see if they have any solutions . Anytime you install software, you run the risk of software conflicts.

Yes it is? But I was just wondering if anyone else has. It would nice to know which software conflicts with Roxio 7. Often, the only solution is to not use it. But I am also checking with Cyberlink.

If you downloaded, or let Microsoft auto-update download, Internet Explorer 7 - IE 7 will 'break' EMC 7, 7.5, and 8 - and a lot of other software - as does WinPlayer 11. Both are Vista applications that have been made more-or-less compatible with WinXP and Win2000, and are NOT critical updates. Links for removing them are here -

I have actually used CyberLink PowerDVD 7, On XP SP 2 Home, IE6, WMP 9, with versions 7.5, 8, 9, and now 10. I have had no problems!

No, I already went through that and had to reinstall that computer to get VideoWave to work when I installed IE7. I guess there are so many variables, especially with video cards but I have not installed anything else on that computer but PowerDVD pro 7 and there after I started having problems. So I probably will never know what caused my freezing problems. I've been using it for years without any problems, except for the IE7 problem. I guess I will just reinstall it. It's not my main computer.

Do you have Microsoft auto-update enabled? Because if you do, you have IE 7 again.

I expect my WinXP to complain every time I turn it on that auto-update isn't enabled. If it doesn't complain, it's time to re-disable it.

I shut it off three years ago and have never heard a peep!

You must have a special version of XP... laugh.gif

I just checked, it's still disabled! wacko.gif
