Full Version: A Mess Uninstalling 8 And Then Reinstalling 7

I purchased ver 8 of EMC and have had many problems using it; because several users said they had better luck with 7, I decided to uninstall 8 and reinstall 7 to give it another try with the latest update (I had also given up on that program soon after buying it because it had so many bugs and was just about unusable for anything. I only tried 8 because I thought some of the problems had been corrected due to good reviews given on the web site where I bought it. I know think they must have been plants by the Roxio developers or stock holders!)

Anyway, after installing ver 7, I lost my CD/ DVD drives. They had been there after uninstalling 8, so it was only in installing 7 that they disappeared. I used the MS fix for this problem and got the drives back...but no functionality with the EMC7 program. I then installed the update to ver 7. Lost the drives again...tried the fix again, which brought back the drives, but still no functionality. I couldn't write to the drives using Roxio and it's programs didn't properly recognize the drives. I noticed none of the Roxio drivers were listed in the drivers list. I also had a very rare blue screen fatal error while trying out one of the programs modules (Creating a DVD using the dvd wizard. ) While rendering the file, it blue screened.

I finally decided to just remove everything and use a disk image to get back to where I was before EMC...but I am now stuck with an expensive software program I've never been able to use. Will Roxio accept returns if the software was bought from an outside source? I've never had such bad luck with software and I am an experienced user who seldom has problems, even with software others are struggling with.

I think that after reading the multitude of posts that you have put up on the forums, that a Format C:/ is your best bet!
