I had a problem in that the production I had saved will not open again. My video had become so choppy and slow it almost stopped, like it usually does! So I rebooted and now it won't open AT ALL! Tried to run the 8.05 update with the same results. My EMC 8 shows build # 805B56B ENU. Now I cannot open a lot of things. Error message says the certificate file is missing and must be found. This is only the most recent of two years of maddening insanity with all of this. I am evidently not as techno savvy as most. It drives me to suicide, doorstep.... :-(

Search the site for the certificate file is missing. You'll get lots of hits - for example (link)

Also, perhaps the best advice is to do a clean uninstall/install. The instructions are here (link)

EMC 8 has seemed to give more people problesm that they have with EMC 7, EMC 9 and/or EMC 10.

The update won't do anything as you have 8.05 already
