Full Version: Unable To Reinstall Easy Media Creator 7.1

I had a problem with image creation and wanted to reinstall Easy Media Creator 7.1, after uninstalling IE7 (as I had read it could be incompatible). But now, I'm stuck without IE7 and without Easy Media Creator 7.1! angry.gif

I've been trying to reinstall Easy Media Creator 7.1.
It was not possible to uninstall, so I had to use roxios uninstall guide (Windows Install Cleanup, delete several registry keys).
When I now try to install, I get the error: uninstall current version...

I have deleted all folders with "roxio", and registry keys software/roxio. What more is to be done to be able to install my software? sad.gif

I have XP sp2.

Yes.

Yes.

But I have not deleted all the occurrencies of Roxio in registry (only under local machine/current user software and some others, but there are lots of all over the registry - classes, etc). RegClean from Microsoft does not help either. Some important entry in registry that I missed?

But why?

Did you follow ALL the steps in the knowledge base article about clean uninstall in the order in the article?

Also see if Revo Uninstaller (free) will identify that EMC 7 is there and use it to clean those registry entries.

Also remember that WMP 11 will also cause problems with EMC 7/7.5

If that doesn't work, maybe it it time to reformat your hard drive?

But why?

I do not have the time to delete all the rows in registry (all the registered classes).

That's no option at work. There is no time for that. I quit using EMC and try on another PC for the time. No solution to the problem. wink.gif
