I have recently bought myself a Sony Vio and the software for burning is Roxio Creator LE.
I am currently trying to back up some of my original DVD's (cartoons) so that my son can use them in the car DVD player (without damaging the original ones) but Roxio Creator LE does not seam to be able to shrink the larger dvd's to fit onto a normal 4.7gb blank dvd.

Am I doing something wrong or do I have to upgrade my version to Easy Media CreatorŽ 10 Suite (it seems a bit expensive)

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If those DVDs are commercially produced, they are copyrighted and probably have copy protection. It is illegal to break that protection. Sorry.

If they are no protected, and that is all you ever want to do, then there are cheaper programs out there to do that. Not many of us have Creator 8 LE so we don't really know what is available to you.

You can usually find EMC 9 or EMC 10 on sale for around $50. Remember it is a suite of applications.

You can usually find EMC 9 or EMC 10 on sale for around $50. Remember it is a suite of applications.

And even if you buy it at full price ($99) then start to figure all the applications in it:
Sound Editor
Video Wave
PhotoSuite
Panorama Assistant
MyDVD
Slideshow Assistant
Music Disc Creator
"Home"
Tape & LP assistant
Creator Classic
Back Up My PC
Roxio Backup
Disc & Device Utility
Disc Copier
.
.
and quite a few more. But even with what I've listed, that breaks down to about $7.00 per application. Obviously, if you're only using Disc Copier, then it works out to be more expensive, but it's one way to look at it.
