Can anyone shed some light on what's happening. I did th uninstall and eraced all the sonic and roxio software areas of the registry, etc. Tried the install and received the same results.

Since it's a cut-down Dell edition [DE], perhaps you should ask your vendor Dell.

Unfortunately they haven't given the gurus a copy of this software so we can get familiar with it and answer some questions. sad.gif

Since your software is not exactly the same this may not work, but it is worth a shot. Try to follow the instructions to the letter

Followed the instructions to the letter and STILL it will not allow me to install

ANYONE WITH ANY IDEAS OR SOLUTIONS?

Well I hate to be the one to tell you this but if a complete removal of our software didn't do the trick, then the problem lies somewhere else in windows. It could be another application causing a problem, but you may just be better off with a new clean fresh install of windows itself.

I am having the EXACT sme issue, and re-installing the OS is not an option. Roxio tech support said my installer was bad and I needed a new disk from Dell. Got a new disk, and I am having the exact same problem. I just need to burn some CD's! Is there a fix for this or not? That doesn't involve nuking my system....

From what you are saying re-installation of the OS is the only option - that is if you are having exactly the same problem

If it's not exactly the same - please post a new thread and be more specific
