Thank you for your reply.
Forgive me for not understanding a few points. I've checked the systems preferences in my Mac. I'm not sure what I'm looking for there or how to create a new user account for Toast.
In the Log in Items ITuneshelper is opening automatically when I log in. Would it help to remove that?
Thank you so much,
Terri
I searched for info about iTuneshelper and it is useful for people with iPods. If you don't have an iPod you don't need it, but it also shouldn't be a conflict for Toast.
Rather creating a new user account (which probably wouldn't make any difference) try to burn a disc using the Finder or Disc Utility. To burn with the Finder go to the CDs & DVDs panel in System Preferences and choose Open Finder next to what to do when inserting a blank CD and a blank DVD. When you insert the blank disc an icon will appear in the Finder. You can drag files and folders to that icon. To burn the disc drag it to the Trash (which should have its appearance changed to a burn icon). If this works then we know the drive is working with your Mac. Let me know the results.
A maintenance task is to open Disk Utility, click the First Aid tab, select your hard drive and choose Repair Permissions. When that is done click Verify Disk.
