mad.gif I am using Roxio Creator 8.2 XE, the MyDVD option. I put the DVD together, but when it starts encoding the vidoe it shows a double and triple exposure. It has the video itself, but it also has washed-out duplicates of the same image showing through in different parts of the screen. It had been doing this a year ago and I got frustrated and let it go. I was able to burn a DVD about a month ago just fine, but when I went back to burn the project again, the program started doing the same thing. I now have a project that I am trying to get done for a presentation in two days and it is still creating the double/triple image. I have tried letting it just burn and see if it would come out differently on the DVD itself, but it is the same thing. HELP!!!! What would be causing the program to duplicate the video? And how do I fix it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would start at the base. What kind of video card do you have? I suggest updating your video card drivers from manufacture site. Sounds like you have OEM version of product.

That version came with a Mad Dog burner, I believe.

You're talking to someone with very basic computer knowledge. How would I find out what type of vidoe card I have? I will try to download new tongiht. What does OEM mean?
gi7omy
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer and it usually is a cut down version of the suite modified to suit the distributer

It has been awhile since I used EMC 8 and I never used the cut down version. I believe that you do have the following. If not, forgive me my memory.

A couple of things to check. First, in My DVD go to the top menu and select tools, options and press the button to clear the proxy files. Don't worry, they will be immediately be rebuilt but without the ghost video. Watch it again to see if the ghosts are gone. Usually shutting down the program and then reopening it will clear the proxy files but perhaps not in this case.

If that didn't do it, perhaps there is a video file on the internal track. When you are adding video to MyDVD, do you have a timeline options. I don't think you do but if you do. Open the timeline and then select internal tracks icon below the preview. Select all that look like a video track rather than an audio track. Now look at the timeline to see if there is anything on tracks other than the main one. If so, delete it (them) and preview again.
