So here's one for you...
I burned a dvd that worked fine for me on my computer and a dvd player, but the client said they couldn't maneuver around the dvd because the button highlight disappeared. I got it back and found another dvd player (sony) and sure enough the button highlight is there for maybe two seconds and then its gone. No way to move or select after its gone.
Any thoughts?

Just a little more information for Users on this one.
The Sony dyd player (where the dvd doesn't work) seems to go into pause when it hits the menu screen. That's why the button highlight disappears. (It starts with a quick animation and then goes to the main menu)

In my Samsung player, it doesn't go to pause - lets you access everything and plays fine.
So the question is, what am I doing that makes the Sony player go into pause?
Or how do I stop the Sony player from its evil ways???

please describe your project more. you say you have a short animation leading into the main menu. are both of those in the menu domain? if not, place both there and connect them with your end action. also, at the end of the animation, use the "set highlight" command to specifically call out button one as the button to be highlighted after the animation. one more thing you can try. now that your animation is in the "menu" space, put an invisible button on it (draw a rectangle, link that rectangle to the main menu, in the button attributes window select "none" as your highlight type) and then proceed to connect that animated piece to the main menu at the end action.

My "First Play" is a 15 sec animation that then leads you to the Main Menu. On the Main Menu there are two selections. On any other DVD player than Sony, the viewer selects one of them and goes to the next menu. On the Sony players it goes into pause after you see the highlight for a fraction of a second. So with Sony you see the first menu, but can't make any selection. I guess this would be as frustrating if it wasn't working fine on any other dvd player.

so what is in your menu? a still? video? audio? try a different asset there and see if that changes things.
