I'm outputting a feature film plus extras onto a dual layer DVD. My source files are .avi 1080p 23.976 fps. I have 7 menus and the feature if 90 minutes long. The extras add an additional 40 mins. Everything outputs perfectly EXCEPT, about 3/4 of the way through the feature there is a blip, a short freeze. I have reoutput and always the same. Is this the place were the DVD moves from one layer to the second? It does this on my 3 good DVD players. It does NOT do it on a cheap $29 machine from WalMart. Confused. Should I substitute smaller source files? I'm working on Liquid and outputting to .avi which seems to look best compared to MPEG2 or QT. Ideas?
Hi,
I have made a similar experience: a blip when playing back a 110 minutes film on a DL DVD with an an LG DVD player. However, the blip was not present when I played back the same DL DVD on the internal DVD player of my HP xw8400 workstation by which the DVD had been burnt in the first place.
Considering the various experiences posted here, my hunch is that the various DVD players do not satisfy the DVD norms to the same degree.
