I lost my hard drive last week and cannot find my copy of Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. Will the latest version of EMC be able to recover my CD labels and Jewel cases or do I have to go in and rebuild all of them using the latest version

Nope!

Roxio is terrible about backward compatibility. The latest, Creator 2009 will not even read a jwl file made with EMC10…

However, EMC 10 will!!!

Here is a list Brendon made after experimenting with Label Creator:

-Roxio Label Creator 11 will only load .JWL files saved by version 10.1 or 11. Not unexpected, I guess, as it doesn't seem to have changed since 10.1
.JWL files from 10.0 show "input past end"
.JWL files from 8.x and 9.x cause Label Creator to freeze
.JWL files from 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are reported as "corrupt" although 10.0 will load them.

You might still be able to pick up a used copy of EMC 7 or 7.5 at eBay, amazon.com, or similar.
