I recently purchased a Sony CamCorder. I installed the software and the Sony software said it detected a version of EMC installed and it must be removed. I let the Sony software remove it intending to reinstall it after Sony did it's thing. WRONG...When attempting to reinstall, I get a Severe error that it can not find the certificate file (????). Another message appears after that saying it could not authenticate my software and to make sure I had the right date and time set on my computer. Then the program closes and won't go further. I get the same errors at boot up. Once I clear those errors the machine seems to work okay...Any help appreciated. Using XP SP2.

I was so much trying to avoid that tedious job. As you know, it's not simple but what you don't know is I don't trust my self. Even with a restore point I may not get back what I wipe out. System restore is good but as you know it ain't perfect. I've downloaded Revo Uninstall and will try it first.....and thanks a lot for your response to this nightmare.

It is not that hard either…

Print the instructions and follow them closely and you will be fine.

Trust another program to do it for you??? Now that is scary!!!

Well, I took the easiest and most dangerous way out. I ran the Revo Uninstaller. It cleared up the problem and I was able to install EMC. Everything looks good so far but I feel certain that something will rear it's ugly head in the future. Will kill that one when it shows up.....Thanks....
