I purchased Easy Media Creator 7 (Download (CDR-ESD-C7) back in oct. 2004 and then updated to 7.5 . I have never had any problems with the program until it came time to purchase a new computer. When I reinstalled on the new comp. the installation program told me that the cd-key was no longer valid.I have the original email from Roxio with the serial #, t.s.i.d., And cd-key, and it says nothing in the email about the program having an expiration date. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. cool.gif

Most upgrades you have to have the original (Easy Media Creator 7 (Download (CDR-ESD-C7) back in oct. 2004) installed and then apply the upgrade (and then updated to 7.5).

How are you doing it?

I attempted to install 7.0 (but it would not let me ), after which I was going to apply the upgrade patch to 7.5(which has a completely different cd-key).

cd

I opened the 7.0 file and launched the setup program, it took me to the E.U.L.A. page and after accepting the E.U.L.A. it went to a page to enter the cd-key. At this point I clicked next and a pop-up appeared that said that the cd-key was no longer being accepted. At this point the install prog shut down.

That sounds very like a key that has been used for a pirate copy or copies - did you at any time give your key out to anyone?

You can also double-check on your key by going here:

Three thoughts......

EMC 7 isn't going to work properly if you have Internet Explorer 7 installed as part of WinXP SP3.

It is also possible that when you downloaded 7.5, you got a complete program with it's own cd key and you don't need to have 7.0 on the computer. You could alway try installing it by itself.

Also, try copying and pasting the CD key that you got by email from Roxio into the boxes. Sometimes, a zero can look like the letter O, for example.
