Tom,
I shudder to think what quality your music will have when it's transferred like that from one machine to another. If your old machine has a USB port it would be infinitely better to get a flash/pen/thumb/USB drive working on it and transfer the files without converting them to sound and back. However, your choice.
It looks as if you are [or the software is] making image or temporary files before burning the CDs, and not deleting those afterward. I don't know what the files will be called because I don't know how you're burning the CDs, however 'unhiding' hidden files and folders in Vista might help you find and delete the temporary files taking up all the space.
In Windows Explorer [My Computer] go to the top toolbar Tools > Folder Options > View. In Advanced Settings, click the button for 'Show hidden files and folders'. Uncheck the box for 'Hide extensions for known file types' while you're there. Click Apply and then exit from Explorer. This should allow you to see the temporary files, if you can find where they are stored.
A good place to start looking might be C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Temp [where'yourname' is the name of your account on your computer]. Any files in that folder should be worth deleting.
Regards,
Brendon
[Brendan,
Thank you for your advice. First off the music isn't sounding all, that bad. I tried to use a flash drive however as I said my PC is over nine years old and it wouldn't work.
I did what you told me to do and no luck. Couldn't find any files. Found a "Temporary Burn Folder" but it was empty. My friend says it sounds like I'm losing the GBs by the way I'm transferring the files instaed of the Roxio software. Is this what you think.
Like I said still no luck. The thing is I have many music files I'd like to put on CDs. I just may get a new CD burner for my old PC and finish it off.
Thank you for your time and support, Tom
