I need help. I have Easy Media Creator 7 install in my old computer with Window XP. Now I have this new computer with Window Vista and I tried installed Easy Media Creator 7 but it didn't work too good. So I got online and download Easy Media Creator 7. It seems to work okay but I can't get the window installer out on the other computer user (my husband and I are using the same computer). It kept want me to install the CD but it won't let me. Will it be better if I upgrade it to Easy Media Creator 9 for the replace of Easy Media Creator 7?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also have been getting a messages that stated.. "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Window Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exits on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch"
Sorry, I'm a little confuse here..
Thanks,
Lauria

Lauria,

On your old computer in XP, any update patch you apply must match the version 7 that you have installed. There were several versions, and if you want to update you must get the right version.

EMC 7 will not work properly in Vista. For that you need at least EMC 9.

EMC 9 is not sold by Roxio any more - it is two years old. The current version is EMC 11, which they have named Creator 2009 for some strange reason.

EMC 9.1 will work - but do NOT install Drag to Disc (that can cause conflict)

How would I know if I'm installing the right one?

Just unselect D2D if you get a 'custom' installation - 9.1 is an update that can be downloaded from here:

Where did you get EMC 9? On-line? e-Bay? Recently?

If you did not get it from Roxio and you paid only a few $ for it, it may be a limited OEM version or a full illegal version. Be careful.
The OEM version will not give you everything you expect. I won'y comment on the illegal possibility but post where you got it.

I didn't buy it. All I have is EMC7 for several years before I got this new computer with Window Vista.
