In version 10, it seems there isn't a specific icon to make a shortcut on the Desktop for Disc Copier. I don't like to have to enter the "Home" to do basic things. Any suggestions appreciated.

DiscCopier is now called "Video Copy & Convert" unsure.gif

I'm sorry, but you'll find that Sonic is increasingly dropping the stand-alone [Roxio] modules from the suite and replacing them with Sonic modules which are 'simplified' and can only be accessed from the Home application.

Some of us have protested, but to no effect it seems.

It just seems to make it too complicated. Why not just have separate programs and have easy access to those programs. Why have to go through so many steps to just copy something? And what was wrong with calling it Disc copy? Are CD's no longer relevant? Oh and thanks for the info Walt.

You would have to ask Roxio, directly, because all of the regulars, here, have screamed bloody murder, about Roxio dummying down the programs. All to no avail. sad.gif

What Bruce said !!

This is hugely annoying. I just got v10 as I upgraded to Vista, and was very dismayed to see Disc Copier missing. It's insane!

Take a number and stand in line - It will be a large number though.

I have been wonder if this style of making you go to "Home" more often is just a way of forcing you to look at the advertisements on the home page. It's not even a question of dummying things down because it actually makes it more complicated. Why would they make you go through all that trouble to just copy a CD when Disc copy would copy CD's and DVD's? Now "Video Copy & Convert" only burns DVD's. How ridiculous is that? Is this practice continued in Roxio 2009?

Easy Media Creator 9 was the last version to have Disc Copier. Subsequent versions have Video Copy & Convert.

We believe [but have no proof] that it is likely that Creator Classic will be the next Roxio application to go from the lineup.

The trend appears to be toward removing all the [previously] full-featured stand-alone Roxio modules and leaving the user with one monolithic, dumb simplified, Home Application which does not allow selective installation and does not allow much in the way of user-adjustable options. sad.gif

This will be sad if/when it happens.
