I Currently Have Roxio 5.0 Installed & Running Windows 2000 (Sp4). I Use The Sound Editor (Wave) Feature A Lot, It is An Excellent Wave Editor. I Recently Upgraded To Roxio 8.0 Expecting The Wave Editor Would Be The Same, As Now I Am Running Windows Xp (Sp2). To My Dismay The Editor Sucks, It is Inferior Compared To The Version In 5.0. I Am Looking For A Sound Editor Similar To The Version In Roxio 5.0 That Can Be Installed On The Computer Running Windows Xp. I Tried To Install Roxio 5.0 On This Computer But It Would Not Work.

Thanks For Allowing Me To Vent,

I Would Appreciate Any Help In Locating Any Software Similar To Roxio's 5.0 Sound Editor.

This is a users forum, not Roxio Tech Support, so it is doubtful that anyone is going to e-mail, except spammers. It would be wise to edit your post, and get rid of your e-mail.

BTW, what are you trying to do in Sound Editor?

Thanks For The Help, I Really Appreciate Your Assistance. I Use The Sound Editor To Manually Remove The Annoying Pops And Clicks From Imported/Digitized LP Albums In Wave Format. I Prefer To Do It This Way (For Now) Because Other Programs I Have Used, Attenuate The Overall High Frequency Response of The Music.

Thanks Again. John Hernandez

Dave Dewey-Wright, one of the Digital Gurus, uses CDWave (free or donation) and GoldWave (free to try), and recommended them a number of times. I don't know if he's still doing it, but I know for a long time he was converting LPs to CDs for paying customers, which means LOADS of experience smile.gif

Thanks For The Info, I Will Try Them Both.

Have A Merry Christmas.

For manually editing out clicks and pops, I've found Goldwave to be invaluable. It let's you "repaint" the waveform to shape it back like it "ought" to look, or at least how it appears is should look. I've been very successful making many very prominent clicks and pops unnoticeable with it. But, I also use DART XP Pro to run automatically first. Then go after what it can't or won't do.

Merry Christmas!
