Hi:

I'm using Toast 7.1.3 on a Mac G5. It has an internal Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-117. I'm using Write speed > best. I've never had any problems before but now I'm getting the following error message with 80% of the data disks I'm burning.

Sense key = hardware error
Sense code = 0 x 44, 0xD6
Internal Target Failure

Any idea what's happening?

One guess is that the Pioneer drive is failing and needs to be replaced. However, I suggest getting a laser-cleaning disc and checking if that fixes the issue. Also, use good-quality media and burn at 8x.
