Everytime I open up MyDVD, it just hangs. I am unable to import any video etc. How do I debug this issue. I am able to use tools that deal with Audio. Any option from the Media Creator Main Menu that deals with Video doesn't seem to work. They all hang.

I have removed the Roxio Media Creator Suite completely and reinstalled it and it still happens.

I use Roxio Media Creator 8.

Can you help?

Thanks

Did you install either Internet Explorer 7 and/or Media Player 11?

Both those will wreck EMC 8

Yes I upgrded to Windows Media Player 11. Should I uninstall it? What version would I go back to? Any Ideas?

MY OS: Winsows XP. Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600. I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop

Uninstall WMP11 and also IE7 if you installed that, Go back to either 9 or 10 (depending on what was there before)

You will probably have to re-install EMC8 again

Which version of the laptop do you have? What is the CPU and the CPU speed?

If it is a Celeron 1.7, 60G hard drive, with the graphics chip, it is going to be very slow and you will have to keep that hard drive clean, and defragged. Run only the video editing program when you are doing any video work. Shut down the internet and all other running programs including your anti-virus.

Make sure you have updated the video drivers from Toshiba but they are bad in providing updates.

Be patient when you are doing any video work. It may seem that the program is hung but the CPU is just crunching away
