I was wondering if there was a way to mute the audio during a capture, so I could listen to something else on my computer while a capture is in process.

Its a bad idea to run other applications while doing a capture unless you want a possible bad video file.

Yeah, but I wouldn't be playing games, or anything like that. Is there a way to mute it so I can listen to other stuff other than what's being imported?

This has nothing to do with games - "listening to other stuff" also requires an application to be running.
