a while back i was burning a dvd and it finished but the disc didnt work properly. the next disc i tried came up with the following error. had another go today and it seems the error message comes up after about 128kb has been burned.

ive had a look around the roxio site and some info came up but it doesnt give any specifics on the problem.

things ive tried to solve problem

installed latest px engine
unistalled the cd/dvd drive and reinstalled
registry cleanup
tried a different make disc although with my current disc i have burned a good few dvds.

computer info

computer only jus over a year old
running vista

disc drive is an atapi dvd a dh16a1p ata device...

any help would be much appreciated..

That's an error code from the drive

Try a different brand of media

It could also be the drive itself, but trying a better brand of media should help determine that

Sense: 03 ASC: 0C ASCQ: 00 is a Write Error, but that's not very specific and there's no more information coming from the drive about what is causing the error.

cheers for the info. i'll try a drive cleaner and some better discs and c wat happens...

brendon no there is no info coming from the drive. the device manager says it is functioning correctly.

It's the drive firmware which reports that error to your computer when it happens. The "Sense: 03 ASC: 0C ASCQ: 00 (Command 2A)" is from the drive, not the burning software.
