I am trying to burn from an .iso and it opens OK in the software, but when I try to burn, it keeps asking me to insert a burnable disc. And I have tried several clean DVD-Rs (Verbatim) and it won't accept them. But this media works fine in my drive - I have burned with it using Encore. Any ideas?

The 'DE' means you have a Dell OEM version and you would have to check with them for any patches

For what it's worth, I have the same exact problem. The only thing available on the Dell site were two patches that were already available and applied through the software. This is a Roxio issue - don't pawn it off on Dell because they bundled your software. They don't know anything about your software, and aren't about to support me on this issue.

When an OEM [Original Equipment Mfgr] such as Dell buys the rights to use a program as OEM software, they also can say what is or isn't to be included. Usually that means portions of the suite are deleted, altho on occasion it may mean some feature from a subsequent Version may be bundled in. Normally they also accept the responsibility to support the OEM software. (Some additional detail here:
http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...S=set-locale=en )

What this means, is that OEM software is not the same as the full Version. The volunteers who answer here (and these are User Forums, NOT technical support, where you are in contact with company-paid techs) rarely have the cut-down OEM Versions, and thus don't know what is (or more to the point, isn't) in them. And Roxio staff rarely visit - you can recognize them by the Roxio logo by their name.

And another point regarding getting support from Roxio techs - EMC 9 has been succeeded by EMC 10 and Creator 2009 (why marketing chose that name for what should've been EMC 11 is one of those things they don't disclose). What that translates to is, EMC 9 no longer has any staff support.

If Dell can't help you, you might try the Dell discsussion Forums (also a volunteer Forum).

Griping at volunteers is NOT likely to get you any help.

Dude, this is a users forum, and unless you see a Roxio logo, by a user's name, they aren't Roxio.

Try the Px engine patch, here:

Thanks for your assistance. I know it's a users forum, but many such forums do have company people trying to help out. I realized that the respondent wasn't from Roxio, I just thought his reply was both useless and obvious, unlike your own suggestion. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Did it work?
