After spending 10 hours diagnosing the problem (that's 10 hours of my life I will never get back by the way) I finally found out that the file DLACTRLW.exe which was pinned to my startup menu was causing my BSOD problem. Using selective startup I removed it from the startup menu and booting is normal now but if I go to the file and try to run it I get the same blue screen of death and have to reboot so I know it is that exact program. My question is what exactly does that program do and why would it be causing these problems all of a sudden. I can't think of any significant changes I've made that would affect it

DLA is Sonic's packet writing software. What Roxio or Sonic programs do you have on your computer?

I have Roxio Creator 9.0 DE which came loaded along with a sonic brand udf reader and I also loaded some sonic software which handles my sony video camera but that was a couple of weeks ago so like i mentioned I don't know what has changed to cause this problem all of a sudden.
