I hope someone can help...I have Roxio EMC 9 Suite (purchased) installed on my PC...When adding Transitions some of the transitions (in VideoWave) are not showing up in the drop down menu (states not available)...Also are there any Video interludes/Motion Loops within the software that can be used in a production in VideoWave?

Go to Tools/Options, and look to see if the dot is to the left of Software, under Render with. If it is, you won't see any 3-D transitions.

You can click on Run Graphics test, and see if it resets to the same thing, or switches to Hardware.

What video card do you have in your computer?

I keep getting a pop-up saying that my video card may be out of date...oops that was another ? I had also...when I go to the manufacturer's website there appears to be no update????

That is an ancient video chip, and it isn't going to run the software in hardware mode. You need a standalone video card to run the software.

Not too many problems running the software, actually have been using it for almost 2 years now just wanted to be able to utilize all of the effects (transitions)...also are there any video/motion loops within roxio? How do I obtain a standalone video card? Thanx for your help...

I don't know if there are any video/motion loops in the software, but I never looked. There are some .wmv "shorts" in C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy Media Creator 9\VideoUI9\Content\Video. The location of your Easy Media Creator 9 folder may differ from mine.

You will not be able to use 3-D transitions with your video chip. You will have to check your motherboard to see if it has an AGP slot, PCI-e slot, or an empty PCI slot, to determine what kind of video card you can install in it. You can purchase video cards at stores like Best Buy, or buy one online.

And if you don't know what 'an AGP slot, PCI-e slot, or an empty PCI slot' are, I found the the pictures in UPGRADING AND REPAIRING PCs for DUMMIES very useful - if you don't want to buy a copy, you could try checking it out of the library.

Or, probably google will be able to find pictures.

Then all you need to do is take off the relevant side of the computer and see what you have - simple with some models, near-impossible with others. Generally, the newer the computer, the easier the case is to open.
