I am trying to create a DVD that is playable in a DVD player from a Video_TS folder (and empty Audio_TS) folder that I got as a result of ripping with Mactheripper. I have read online to use the Data tab and select DVD-ROM (UDF), which I did. I then hit "New Disc", titled the movie in ALLCAPS with no spaces (the title was only one word), and dragged the movie folder containing the Video_TS and Audio_TS sub-folders into the area that says "drag files and folders into this area". I ended up with a main folder called MOVIENAME that I had named myself (in ALLCAPS, no spaces), a sub-folder called by the same name (this is the folder I ended up with after using Mactheripper) and then 2 sub-folders containing the Audio_TS and Video_TS files. I then hit the red burn button, selected the slowest speed available (2x) and pressed "Record". Within about 5 minues or less, I got an error message saying something about a hardware error. I hit OK. Then this same message popped up again. I hit OK. The I got a different error message saying something about a medium error.
I have already ruined 3 very expensive blank DVDs trying to burn using Toast 6.05. Can someone please help me burn one successfully and/or explain why this keeps happening?
For the record, the blank DVD I tried to write to is a Memorex DVD+R DL (dual layer disc, 8.5 GB). My movie was smaller than 8.5 GB (it was about 5.3 GB). I am on a Macbook Pro using OS X 10.5.6.
Finally, I know very little about computers, so please don't use really technical language in your reply! Thanks so much!
