Hi

I am thinking about buying the Sony HDR-HC9 or the Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder. I plan to shoot in HD and output SD DVDs. Which camcorder is best for this?

Both will do fine, if fact all HD cams will do fine with SD, if your going to encode them down to SD.

Check out the camcorder ratings and read the reviews for both brands. That's a good way of comparing the two.
