Hi

I have TiVo, in Australia.

I have set up Tivo Transfer to transfer from TiVo to Tivo Transfer on the iMac. It transfers the shows, but Toast thinks the shows are copy protected, and won't let me edit them or write them to DVD. So I have the shows only available from within the Tivo Transfer program, not accessible on a file or DVD readable from the iMac directory.

How do I edit the shows (effectively 'crop' the video footage) from Tivo Transfer, and how do I export them to a format on the iMac i.e. get it out of TiVo transfer onto the Mac as a file where I can edit / store them?

If I just got something like the Elgato Eye TV instead of Tivo, or similar systems on the PC, I could record and edit the files directly - I just want to achieve something similar with TiVo + Toast.

Anyone know how?

Thanks

I am interested in the same thing (haven't got the Tivo yet mind). I found this on there support page.

You need to buy the Tivo networking package though (another $200!!). Mind you, I did hear that current owners (early adopters) can get it for $99, but I am not sure if new owners get it for free with the unit (doubt it but we can hope).

Hope this helps.

Enjoy.
