"Roxio"...

That narrows it down to about 50 products. Want to close in on that?

Booting VISTA Home Premium and message appears. No solution from Microsoft is availaable. They say to contact ROXIO.
How can I update ROXIO Driver (Direct CD) to be compatible with VISTA?
Jim_Hardin
What Roxio product do you have - you understand that is required information.

Might look in Startup or Processes under msconfig.

You can't.

You have a stripped down version of EMC 9, that came with a computer, or a DVD burner, and there are no updates for the software.

Your version may not work with Vista. Time to purchase a full version.

Anyone who says you can't is wrong.

Please see the pinned post from Roxio on this matter.

Brendon, I may have this wrong, but I looked at that patches, prior to my post, and I saw nothing about any patch for the Basic version of the software. I did see patches for the Retail and Trial Versions of the software, though.

Perhaps you would be kind enough to show Frenchie, and me, the portion that shows the patch for the Basic version.
Brendon
Hi Bruce,

Given that he's posting in the version 9 forum, he should use the appropriate patch from the "For retail and trial" section. The terminology in the message isn't correct [e.g. there's no DLA/D2D in 9 trial version] however the drivers are the same wherever DLA is provided.

Regards,
Brendon

thanks. I tried to dowload the 32 DLA patch, but could not. Result says "could not find the software"!!!!! software came with the laptop
Brendon
Hokay,

Suggestion: Use the Dell patch mentioned in that post. That will install the latest version of D2D/DLA. Don't worry about not having a Dell machine - it works fine on mine, which isn't a Dell. That should update the driver so Vista doesn't complain. You can always uninstall or just not use the software if you want.
