I recently had a write error on a file I had not accessed. I traced the problem to Roxio. It seems Roxio is accessing my files in the background without my knowledge or permission, and modifying them.
WHY?

What are you talking about? What files are you referring to? Without some details nobody can answer your "Why"? I have never heard of this

If you have Media Manager (roxwatch) running in your tray, at start up, it is cataloging your files, and this, could be the reason you get that error.

Go to msconfig, then Startup, and uncheck the box to the left of RoxWatch.

Thanks... I have all indexing turned off on all drives. What does it do when it's cataloging, and why?

Open the Media Manager application, when it opens, click on the Media Manager Help and do some reading.
