Just upgraded to IE 8 on my Toshiba laptop and now every time I pull up the browser it tells me that the Sonic DLA add-in is incompatible with IE 8.
The choices it gives me to resolve this are: don't bring up the add in with IE 8, bring up the add in anyway, or go to the Roxio website to see if there is an update.
I'm here. Is there an update (currently running v 4.90 Build 490B16C (SSD))?

What Sonic/Roxio program do you have?, did it come pre-installed on your computer.

I purchased the DLA when I discovered that the burner in my laptop wouldn't actually burn.
It looks like Record Now! came bundled with the laptop.

The thread appears to have gone the way of a river in the Sahara. What's the solution? Back to IE7 ? or another product's IE add-on? Dissappointing follow-up in Roxio KB

Try rolling back to IE 6 ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 ).
IE 8 caused problems for some of the Full Retail versions (you have a OEM version.... it came pre-installed and this was one of the recommended fixes for it. It may not work for your OEM version, try it, you have nothing to lose (well you do....you wont have IE 8 anymore, which may be a issue for you). You may want to upgrade to a newer version, yours is quite old.
went to ie8 on a IBM 8423 and came up with the waring..D>L>A not compatable and may cause crash..Tried going back to ie7..Does download but "canot supercede a later level...it tell me after the down load..If there is an update to DLA i cannot find it...Any other solutions out there...Johnmac

If you want to keep IE 8, you will need an up-to-date burning program. Since burning suites that are new enough to be compatible with IE 8 no longer include Packet-Writing programs such as DLA, Roxio's Drag2Disc, Nero's InCD, etc, you will need to learn how to use a more reliable form of saving information. If you were only using Packet-Writing to transfer information from one location to another, you will need to use some other option, such as a Flash drive or External Hard Drive.

Your lucky, IE 7 also caused problems, as long as your happy, and it works for you.

As ogdens says, you are lucky to get it to work with IE7 rather than IE Six.
As to Packet-Writing - it is probable that one of these days you, too, will experience the thrill of a failed disc. I hope you aren't saving anything irreplacable that way. I learned the hard way and nobody could tell me otherwise.

Since you have more current info than I do, do you know if Nero's InCD V.9 will be compatible with OP's DLA discs?
Since Packet-Writing is notorious for being incompatible between programs, or even between different Versions of the same program, I doubt it.
