Full Version: How to learn Roxio 10? Is there a CREDIBLE MANUAL?
Roxio Community > Easy Media Creator Products > Legacy Creator Products > Easy Media Creator 10 > "How To" and Usability Questions

Roxio's documentation (the "Manual") is useless for learning what to do and how to do it (looking up individual features and how to use them). The idiot's guide book series only covers Ver 8 (I have 10). Is there anyplace online (or any 3rd party manual) that has searchable/ well documented breakdown of HOW TO EDIT VIDEO; HOW TO USE THE FEATURES IN MY DVD?

Consulting R's 'type yr question' or 'email your question' is a bloody joke and useless. I am frustrated and annoyed at trying to find a 'way in' to this program.

If you are referring to the Roxio users Manual that you can download from their wbsite, then as far as I know there is no other manuals written for EMC 10. Logging on to this Roxio forum and going to the EMC10 forum and asking any questions you want about EMC10 is as good as it gets. There are many very, very knowledgeable persons on this forum that can pretty much solve any questions or problems you have with EMC10, as well as any other versions of Roxio's programs.

Also, if you look at the "How To" sections for EMC 9, EMC 10, and Creator 2009 you'll find a number of posts pinned to the top with a bunch of useful tips on using the software. Some also include links to video walkthru examples.

There are many features of EMC 10 that are not discussed in the manual.

So I guess you just have to feel around in the dark and press buttons to see what capabilities you have available?? or what certain attributes do??

For those of us new to video editing, It would be great to have some material to read so we know what capabilities we have available.

We cant ask questions about something if we don't know it exists.

Yes, I think the newbie could do with a more detailed manual, but I guess the writers are up against the age-old problem with any manual - how much to include or to leave out, given the different abilities of the readers.

DD, if you look around the forums here you'll see many users asking open-ended questions such as "What is the best way to . . . . ?" and they get answers including all sorts of things they didn't know existed. I think the forum denizens do a very good job filling in the gaps in the manuals.
