I am a previous user of EMC 7.5, which worked flawlessly on my system. I am trying to burn a DVD, using EMC 8 MyDVD and the result starts and stops repetitively. One second on one second off. Unbearable to watch.

My Project consists of one AVI movie, created with VideoWave. I am using the "DVD, No Menu" option ("DVD, Menu" option works the same). NOT ALL AVI MOVIES ARE CAUSING PROBLEMS.

If I save as disk image (ISO) and load the imageusing EMC Disc Image loader, I get the same jerky behavior.

HOWEVER, If I use VideoWave to save the same movie to a NTSC Mpg Movie first and then add it to my project, I get a perfect DVD.

Is anyone else having this problem using AVI movies in MyDVD?

I have experienced this. However, with me, the quality of the playback device software seems to be an issue. PowerDVD v5 plays perfectly on the PC. A Marantz DVD player starts to give jerky vision and sound finally completely breaking up after 20mins. A Bose DVD player plays perfectly. Is there an issue with the encoding software?

In my case, the DVD's are jerky even before I bur them (I test the disc images with Roxio's Image Loader utility first). It's definitely some kind of encoding problem. What puzzles me is that some projects produce jerkiness, some don't, even though they are all made from AVI files made by Roxio's VideoWave.

When I say jerky, I mean jerky. Playback starts for 1 second and stops for 1 second repeatedly.

From looking at your system specs it seems you only have "on board" video and only 64 mb! This robs from the ram and the entire system and most likely part if not the entire problem. You may get it to work with on board video if you shut down most of the other processes, disconnect from the internet, shut off anti-virus software, and don't move the mouse or mess with the computer during burning the iso.

With as much ram as you have you can also try to increase your video mb's in the bios. There should be an option for increasing it to 128mb.
