I have been using EMC 9 for years and suddenly started getting this window pop up with the title message. When I attempt to activate it I get an "Invalid product key" error and I can get no further. This was bought directly from the roxio web site.

No I didn't use a registry cleaner, per se. The system is a lenovo desktop that had the system board replaced recently with an Asues board because the lenovo board went bad. But I've actually put a video project together since getiting the new board put in. This was a direct purchase / download from Roxio. Should I still try that manual activation?

Well, you didn't mention that above. Have you signed into your account and used the activation key you put in when you first registered the product?

I'm not sure you are going to get much help from Roxio since that is not longer a supported product. There are two newer versions.

I had to reinstall my EMC9, but when I launch the application "Create a DVD with MyDVD", it wants to activate the MPEG2 codec. I am connected to the internet, but when it wants to activate, it states "Activation denied - Bad Installation"

Did you do the manual activation?

I believe the actual error is " No permission - Bad installation". Generally occurs due to corrupted activation module during installation. Please try a clean install and see if that helps.
