From my laptop running roxio 7 on XP, I can burn vob files onto a DVD.

My Desktop has Vista and Creator 9 and when I try to burn from the hard drive, it does not recognize the VOB files. Any solutions?

Do you have Easy Meia Creator 9 or Creator 2009. You posted in the later.
How are you trying to burn-- what application? Are you just copying the VOB file to a disc or are you making a video project?

Not enough information to really make any suggestions.
What software do you really have? There is a Easy Media Creator 9 (EMC 9) and Roxio Creator 2009 (there may even be something called Roxio Creator 9 but I am not sure about that). There is a 2 year difference between EMC 9 and Creator 2009. EMC 9 is not even supported anymore by Roxio.

You will have to explain what program from the suite you are using and how you are going about it. With Creator 2009 I have no problem using VOB files with Creator 2009.

Try renaming the .vob to .mpg

Easy Media Creator 9 from DELL. I am trying to burn files from an old home movie which I created a while ago. i do not have the original DVD anymore. I have the VOB files in a folder called VideoTS. I am trying to get them back on a DVD.

The Dell version of EMC 9 is a stripped down version with many functions being disabled. The Roxio retail version is no longer supported.

When you open your Dell version of MYDVD, click on add Add New Movie and tell us what types of files are supported.

Try this freeware Imgburn software to burn the video folder set.

In the following guide, choose "Write files/folder to disc" and select the dvd video folder set as the source.
