I am using Easy Media Creator 9 on an XP machine.

I downloaded and installed an update from the Roxio web site.

Since then, when I start my computer, I receive an error message called RegistryController.exe - Application Error

saying: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Any ideas on how I can eliminate this error message? Thanks

Looks like it is part of a pdf converter Scansoft Omnipage software. . Do you have that on your computer (ScanSoft)?

Go into msconfig and disable it in the start up programs. When you do start the program, Scansoft Omnipage software., then the program should open properly.

This is the first time I've heard of any conflict and I do have that software on my computer. Let us know if you want more instructions on msconfig and disabling the start up items.

Sknis,
I regret that it never dawned on me that the file was not associated with Roxio. I looked for help with Nuance PDF, but they had nothing to offer, so I uninstalled PDF Converter, then reinstalled it, and the message is gone. Thank you so much for sharing your brain, and getting me pointed in the right direction.
