I have multiple Pioneer 300 disk changers and two Sony 400 disk changers. Burned cd's play without a problem on the Pioneer changers, but just of late, not on either of the Sony changers. This is a recent problem within the last two months or so. The Sony's get stuck on trying to read the TOC. Something has changed, but I don't know what.

Have you changed brand / make of CD-R media?

Well you can pretty well assume it has nothing to do with the software!

Quality Media helps, never hear any complaints about Verbatim…

It is possible that the burn laser if fading – these things don’t last forever…

Media is easy and cheap to try. Of course I am up to my knees in burners, so I would swap one out to test the laser. laugh.gif

Thank you. I was just about to post a reply to my own post with that very same solution. I was thinking to myself that I did buy a new supply of cdr's a while back and I wonder? Yep, new cdr's are Memorex; old ones Verbatim. Well duh! And I got such a good deal on the Memorex cdr's too! What was that old ad for Memorex about how you can tell if it's Memorex or not? Yeah, you can tell because it doesn't play.

Thanks again.

If you look at a disc utility your Memorex are probably Ritek disc's. Memorex and a hole bunch of others don't make media, just farm it out and put their brand name on it..

. . . . and no brand is a good deal if you have to throw it out. sad.gif
