nah, the i7 965 Extreme Edition is build for overclocking. The BCLK is stock, only the multiplier was changed. I consider my OC to be very modest for this processor. It is 100% stable, no crash, no blue screen, no artifacts, and can run prime or orthos on all cores until i get bored.
I'll try an older video driver to see if it fixes the problem.

Yes, it takes time to rebuild a machine, and mine is never fully installed and configured with all the software i've purchased. I tend to take the incremental approach, so that I only install when I really need it. And before I know it, it's upgrade time

Wifey and kids gets my *old* stuff.
