Full Version: Hang after Encoding

I've just bought Roxio Creator 2010 Pro. I'm trying to create a Blu-ray in AVC using the MyDVD application. Nothing too fussy because I wanted to just see how/if it worked!! Here's what I do:

1. Select Blu-ray, no menus
2. Import 10 MTS files from my Sony AVCHD camera which are 1920x1080 files
3. Select to have all the clips as one movie
4. Click burn
5. Select any of the 3 output options
6. Click to start

The new smart Roxio encoding then kicks in, seems to work fine. Then, after the encoding (and I can see from the screen it has gone all the way through the clips) it just stops. No error messages, it just hangs when it should write to the hd or the bd.

I've tried a fresh install, and turning the smart roxio encoding off, no effect.

I'm running Windows 7 RC 64bit, with ATI 4830 graphics card, with the latest drivers written for Windows 7 installed.

I'm stumped! Any ideas?

I guess you really mean AVCHD on DVD???

Test: New DVD project - load one still picture – burn to file.

If that works – File – Change Project Type – AVCHD

If that works, bump it up – add one movie clip.

Hi, thanks for getting back. No i did mean blu-ray, encoded in AVC, which is the default for blu-ray in project settings. I want to encode in that format so that the roxio smart encoding only re-encodes the transitions between the clips to preserve the original quality.

I've managed to successfully burn an AVC Blu-ray with 3 or 4 clips, but the problem occurs when you add more.

Thanks

Well that is not the best way to go about and could be part of the problem…

Create your projects in VideoWave and Save Project. – don’t export!

Add the VW Projects to MyDVD. There is no point in encoding until you are ready to output.

You should try outputting to File (ISO) until you get this nailed down or at least use RE discs.

What is the total length of the project (time)?

Does VW create a Proxy file when you add the clips in there?

Thanks, I will give it a shot!
