smile.gif I've been watching this forum for some time now. I read about having to disable anti-spy ware and anti virus programs. I have sbc yahoo online protection which includes their anti spy ware and anti virus protection. I can turn off the anti virus but I can't turn off the anti spy ware, there is no way to turn it off. Does anyone know how to turn it off? And if you can't turn it off. I just got the emc 8 program today and don't want installation problems. Please help. Thank you in advance.

I think you should contact SBC and ask them how to disable it. I'm sure their website has info on it. Does it reside in the system tray? If so, you can try right clicking it and see if a menu pops up allowing you to turn it off.

Hi rhythmace3,
try this,
go into the control panel, then into the administator tab (see Below)

then go into the main admin part (like below)

And then into the service tab (like below)

Now look though the list and see if there is a service called SBC or Yahoo in the list?
if there is then right click it and select STOP Service,
This will then stop the application from running, and let you do your install.
After you have finished the install, then do the same as you have just done and select START SERVICE...
thats it.
If you dont have this service oin the list then , yes do contact Yahoo and carry on down that road .

hope this helps
Works for Windows XP Home, XP Pro,

All I can do is recommend use of the MaAfee Security Center software. I have had no conflicts between it and EMC 8.
